Two Aboitiz Construction companies got recommended for re-certification on international standard management systems, namely, ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System/QMS), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System/EMS) and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI) underwent surveillance audit for the 3 certifications while Aboitiz Construction International, Inc. (ACII) was re-certified for QMS and underwent surveillance audit for EMS and OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety).

Scope of certification covers metal fabrication and assembly, including pressure vessels, structural and piping.

TUV-Rheinland lead auditors Eufrocino Alonzo (for ACII) and Rafael Magsino (for ACI) announced the favorable result during the closing meeting of the 5-day audit.

The certifications are upgraded standards where the QMS incorporates risk-based thinking while EMS includes life-cycle stages and perspective.

The additional certifications have enabled Aboitiz Construction to upgrade into an integrated management system (IMS), thus giving equal importance to profit, people (health) and planet (environment).  Truly, Aboitiz Construction ensures delivery of RISQ (reliability, integrity, safety & quality), the company’s value proposition, to its clients.

The IMS certification project was led by August Dacanay as management representative , David Dumaguit as lead auditor, together with the internal auditors, namely: Maribel Bangot (of Project Control), Flora Estapia (of HR), Juanita Labang (of Contract Management Team), Rey Menchavez (of Estimating), and, Mercy Ricamata, Deonito Capao, R. Valmoria and Hannah Carmelotes (of Quality, Safety and Environment/QSHE)
